Styx

secretsoftheserpent

The River Styx gets its name from the Goddess Styx.  She was the Goddess of this river.  In the Greek myths it is said that she sided with Zeus during the Titan War.  Is this river in Greek mythology real?  Many rivers have been named after it, but what is it or where is it?  Herodotus says Styx originated near Feneos.  Herodotus has been accused of making up stories for entertainment, but he maintained he was only reporting what he was told.  One must understand that these myths and texts were written for the initiated.  For those who are not initiated, it is just a wild fanciful story.

Good Witches Homestead

Today, January 5th, we are bringing in 2019 with a New Moon in Capricorn at 5:38 pm PST (8:38 pm EST). With the partial solar eclipse riding on the back of this New Moon along with Saturn (Capricorns ruling planet) in close proximity, you may find yourself in a place of reflection.

Capricorn Moon energy is feminine and earthy. She connects us to our ambitions, encourages us to dream, and brings in the energy of productivity, stability, and opportunity. She brings you energy to look at what you want to achieve. Under a Dark Moon in Capricorn, we can find it easier to direct our thoughts to see beyond what is possible ~ to find our confidence and pay attention to our relationships.

These Dark Moon hours offer us the time for circling…

Hourglass

secretsoftheserpent

The function of an Hourglass is to mark the passing of time as sand trickles through the narrow waist in the middle of the transparent glass container.  It is a very old Freemasonry symbol.  Many think the Egyptians use a clepsydra or water-clock and it was the predecessor of the hourglass.  I got news for them.  If it’s a Freemason and Alchemical symbol, it was used in ancient Egypt.  After all we get Hour from the name Horus.

New Moon / Solar Eclipse January 5

Dear All,

Happy New Year!! Hope you have already planted some seeds! And if not — it is not too late — the upcoming New Moon in Capricorn opens an amazing energetic doorway for new beginnings!

New Moon in Capricorn / Solar Eclipse in Capricorn happens exactly at 8:29pm EST on Saturday, January 5th. It happens between Saturn and Pluto and connects with Neptune, emphasizing the following:
  • wise decision making
  • learning from the past to transform the future
  • being pragmatic while following your dreams
  • balancing methodical approach with intuitive guidance
  • achieving deep understanding from spiritual learning
And of course, all this while opening the doors for new beginnings. The window for this is quite wide — all day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Additional astro alignments involving Mercury, Uranus, Venus and Chiron are accentuating expanded thinking, expanded consciousness, enlightening revelations, healing through beauty, art, spirituality, mentorship and supportive relationships . . .
Crystals to use during this time are Pink Tourmaline, Green Aventurine, Red Jasper, Carnelian, Mahogany Obsidian, Black Obsidian, Herkimer Diamond, Phenacite, Moldavite . . . This obviously not all at once at the same time but as you feel guided, up to 3 different stones at most if you are a crystal beginner, and not while driving . . . Remember that crystals can powerfully move your energies so if you are working with a crystal that is new to you, make sure to do it first at home, for a short period of time.
And if you are a newbie in the crystal world, I recommend listening to myjust released podcast HERE

Start the New Year with Some Crystal Healing!

By Krista Mitchell

Happy New Year!

In celebration of today’s launch of my second book Crystal Reiki (a #1 new release in energy healing on Amazon!), I’m sharing a few crystal healing protocols from the book to help you start your year off in a healthy, loving, and magical way!

Here are three crystal healing sessions you can give yourself, depending on your needs.

Lie down, place your crystals, and sink into the vibes anywhere from 25 – 45 minutes. Don’t forget to clear your energy first, and have a blanket on hand in case you get cold!

Detox protocol:

  • Galena or smoky quartz placed at the feet will help to draw out toxins
  • Place red calcite at the root chakra for overall detox of the body
  • Charoite on the liver and gold rutilated quartz on the kidneys will help to purge toxins from those organs

Self-Love / Self-Worth protocol:

  • Place rhodochrosite, rose quartz, and rhodonite on the heart chakra for heart healing, compassion, courage, and pure love energy
  • Ruby on the root chakra for empowered self-leadership, grounding, passion, strength and confidence
  • You can also hold rose quartz in both hands

Manifestation

  • Hold epidote in your receptive hand and clear topaz in your dominant hand (you can sub in quartz points if you don’t have these crystals)
  • Pyrite on the solar plexus
  • Blue apatite on the throat chakra
  • Optical calcite on the 3rd eye chakra
  • Spend time during your healing session visualizing, affirming out loud, and emotionally connecting to your dreams and desires for this year.

The Aura Energy Field

Good Witches Homestead

The aura is an energy field that surrounds and penetrates the human body. Clairvoyants and healers describe it as an egg-shaped field of lights and colors. The aura extends beyond the body anywhere from a few inches to several feet. A special type of photography called Kirlian photography has even been able to capture the aura on film.

There are many different layers of energy in the aura, each existing at a different vibration. In order to easily remember the primary layers use the following example:

Suppose someone you know begins to exhibit angry behavior. At first, their angry energy hits the outer or spiritual layer of your aura. You shrug it off. You look at them with compassion and assume they must be having a bad day.

Now, the next time you see the same person, they are angry again. Their energy begins to filter into the mental layer…

Sacred, Spiritual Nature

Good Witches Homestead

I do not really need experts telling me that being in nature contributes to a sense of well-being – but I’m happy to see that this concept is gaining traction and press. From the age of nine or 10, I regularly ran past the placid horses in the pasture, across the brook where red-winged blackbirds sang out their cheery “konkaree,” across the far field, and finally, panting, to the bar-gate into the woods.

Ah, the sheltering, mysterious woods! Refuge from family chaos, relief from long school days. My woods offered peace and possibility. I might startle a grouse – or rather it would startle me as it whirred into the air. Maybe deer would be feeding in the abandoned field beyond the woods. I knew I was in a magical territory, the domain of fairies and nature spirits, even if I couldn’t see them.

After a long woods ramble and a…

Quaoar – The Sacredness of Life

Good Witches Homestead

The Astronomy and Astrology of
Quaoar

Quaoar (pronounced kwah-whar) was the name given to the “creation force” by the Native American Tongva tribe who were the original inhabitants of the Los Angeles basin in Southern California—several thousand years ago when the LA basin was a vast and lush willow forest. According to legend, Quaoar, “came down from heaven; and, after reducing chaos to order, laid out the world on the back of seven giants. He then created the lower animals, and then (or from them) humankind.”

Quaoar was discovered by Mike Brown, a professor of planetary science at the California Institute of Technology and colleague Chad Trujillo in a digital image taken June 4, 2002, 05:41:40 UT from the Palomar Observatory 48-inch Oschin telescope in California. Quaoar was identified in the image on June 5, 2002, 10:48:08 PDT (the best discovery time to use for astrological purposes).

Upon examining archival…
