Solar Eclipse & New moon in Capricorn Energy Report

This is the first official complete moon cycle of 2019 and all the cards we pulled for this cycle are the Full Moondala cards carrying really big energy! This just affirms that THIS IS THE CYCLE to help us set the whole foundation of 2019 and by doing so we will create ripples through the months to come!

The the Solar Eclipse is a highly-charged New Moon when the Moon is in exact alignment with the Sun, the Sun is illuminating and supporting the New Moon… So whatever intentions you set tonight be very clear and focused with them (think capturing the light of the sun in a magnifying glass) and the Capricorn energy will definitely help with this. This New Moon is great for setting intentions for career, money, security, and building a foundation you can live and thrive on so keep this in mind when you set your intentions.

We pulled the moondala: Flower Moon, which means whatever your goals are, you have all the resources you need to fully bloom and embody this dream. So don’t be afraid to be very specific! Capricorn is very strategizing and and really wants to set you up for success.

Uranus goes direct on January 6th, so expect the unexpected. This means be bold and take action this moon cycle… whatever ideas that have been brewing and swirling around in your head since August 2018, as crazy as they may seem, now is the time to act upon them. Also don’t be surprised if any weird, unexpected events or circumstances present themselves to you… it’s all a part of the bigger picture.

New year, new paradigm.

In keeping with the themes of this new year and new moon, I’m approaching these posts in a new way: from an Akashic perspective (as opposed to astrological), and providing soul-based crystal suggestions.

Interestingly enough, what came through my Akashic guides resonated strongly with astrological reports for this new moon solar eclipse in Capricorn, so there’s proof of the divine design, for you!

I’m really excited for this new moon and for the paradigm shift it engenders, as after 2018 I’m so ready to do things in a new way, to strike further than I have before, and make all that good change last.

Looking For Something To Forage This Weekend? Check Out These Jelly Mushrooms!

Greetings, and Happy New Year!

In my neck of the woods, January is certainly not the most prolific month in terms of wild edible mushrooms.  Snow-covered soil and freezing temperatures aren’t very conducive to ample mushroom activity.

Lately, however, conditions around here have been quite different.

The ground is devoid of snow and temperatures have been mild.  As a result, our wild woody decomposers — in particular, the fungi that feed on trees — continue to thrive.

Chief among these winter woody decomposers are our jelly fungi.  These mushrooms are unique in that their fruiting bodies can persist for months on a stick, log, or stump in a dehydrated or frozen state… only to rebound during a winter rain or warm spell.

Two fascinating jelly fungi that flourish during the winter season include the world-famous Wood Ear (popular in soup recipes) and the Amber Jelly Roll (a close look-alike).  Both mushrooms are edible and both are often found in abundance… even amongst snow and freezing temperatures.

Speaking of edible gelatinous mushrooms, the Orange Jelly Fungus is another common component of the winter forest.  Though I don’t feature this species in the aforementioned video, I do discuss its key features in a recent Instagram post.  Check it out!

Happy New Year!! Hope you have already planted some seeds! And if not — it is not too late — the upcoming New Moon in Capricorn opens an amazing energetic doorway for new beginnings!

New Moon in Capricorn / Solar Eclipse in Capricorn happens exactly at 8:29pm EST on Saturday, January 5th. It happens between Saturn and Pluto and connects with Neptune, emphasizing the following:
  • wise decision making
  • learning from the past to transform the future
  • being pragmatic while following your dreams
  • balancing methodical approach with intuitive guidance
  • achieving deep understanding from spiritual learning
And of course, all this while opening the doors for new beginnings. The window for this is quite wide — all day Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Additional astro alignments involving Mercury, Uranus, Venus and Chiron are accentuating expanded thinking, expanded consciousness, enlightening revelations, healing through beauty, art, spirituality, mentorship and supportive relationships . . .
Crystals to use during this time are Pink Tourmaline, Green Aventurine, Red Jasper, Carnelian, Mahogany Obsidian, Black Obsidian, Herkimer Diamond, Phenacite, Moldavite . . . Start the New Year with Some Crystal Healing!

Here are three crystal healing sessions you can give yourself, depending on your needs.

Lie down, place your crystals, and sink into the vibes anywhere from 25 – 45 minutes. Don’t forget to clear your energy first, and have a blanket on hand in case you get cold!

Detox protocol:

  • Galena or smoky quartz placed at the feet will help to draw out toxins
  • Place red calcite at the root chakra for overall detox of the body

Manifestation

  • Hold epidote in your receptive hand and clear topaz in your dominant hand (you can sub in quartz points if you don’t have these crystals)
  • Pyrite on the solar plexus
  • Blue apatite on the throat chakra
  • Optical calcite on the 3rd eye chakra
  • Spend time during your healing session visualizing, affirming out loud, and emotionally connecting to your dreams and desires for this year.
