Lilith

secretsoftheserpent

Lilith is the biggest enigma known to man. Many women see her as a hero, but only know she was a strong woman with a mind of her own. Patriarch religions see her as a demon. In fact she is quoted as being a dangerous demon of the night, who is sexually wanton and who steals babies in the darkness. Why is it that all women with a strong mind are considered evil or demons or they are just killed and the history covered up like it was with Hypatia? Here is an even greater question. How can any women be a theologian or even belong to these patriarch religions? For those that know my work, this will not come as a surprise. To those just finding my work, get ready to have your world turned upside down.

Summary: When Jeremiah Parks returned to the city of his birth, his life was in such turmoil that he failed to realize the most important thing in the middle of all the chaos. Now he has to learn to open his life to someone new.

~ Chicago, Illinois, February 2005 ~

Sitting with his chin resting on his fist, Jeremiah Parks watched the snow beginning to accumulate on the branches outside his office window. An email from his Operations Manager containing the year end numbers on his clubs had put him in a contemplative mood. The numbers were remarkable considering he’d bought and remodeled one property, and sold one. If the next six months continued the same way, it might be time to think about the best city for this year’s club. He was sure something would drop him a clue.

Reaching for his coffee cup, the light flashed off the diamonds and sapphires embedded in the wide platinum band on his left hand. A soft smile lightened his mood thinking about all that happened in the past seven years, including a trip to Massachusetts two weeks ago. He’d have to talk with his Mate about where he wanted to take a honeymoon trip, or maybe he should make the trip a surprise.

Huffington Post: The Future of Indie Authors and Kindle Unlimited

Two Drops of Ink: A Literary Blog

Editor’s Note:

I found this article this morning as I was researching news about literary agents. Mark Coker is one of the founders of Smashwords.com, one of the best indie publishing platforms available. I have used both Smashwords and CreateSpace (Amazon’s self -pub), and both have their strengths; however, I would say Smashwords has the easiest interface with a huge list of retailers that will accept your book into their catalogs, if you follow the Smashwords publishing guide – which is free.

This post by Mark Coker looks at the future of indie publishing and some of the road blocks that are being put in place by big retailers like Amazon. He shows how KDP and KU are being used to gain back control of pricing from indie authors. This is well worth a read.
