Full Moon In Cancer ~ January 1st

By Brana Mijatovic, Ph.D., Crystal Cosmopolitan

Full Moon coinciding with the beginning of a New Year is quite a rare thing! I would not go as far as to say that it will determine the unfolding of the whole year, but it will certainly give us a big theme to develop within 2018!
Full Moon in Cancer is asking us to take better care of ourselves and understand how important self-nourishment is. The last year has had quite a few dramatic astrological events, and this year should be somewhat calmer, at least in terms of its aspects.
However, we have experienced what it feels like being under almost continual pressure throughout the year, and many people have experienced recurring health challenges.
So I will keep it short and sweet — take care of yourselves and your loved ones much more than ever before. Pay attention to your emotions, your imagination and your intuition and let go of any memories that no longer serve your highest good. Use the Element of Water to help you release those memories. Strengthen the energy of your heart. The stone to work with for this is Rhodochrosite and any other stone that you intuitively choose during the Full Moon on Monday and Tuesday.
Have a wonderful and a prosperous 2018!!
Till next time — stay healthy and happy!
Brana Mijatovic, Ph.D.

Balance … Balance … Balance

secretsoftheserpent

I have had several emails referring to my last post. The questions are asking, “How can you say what we are here to do is grow?” I’m going to get very deep on this post, so if I give you a headache for the New Year, I’m sorry. I admit, this post will not be understood by many. Hell, most of my writings are understood by very few and this one will be understood by even fewer. We are not here to bow down to some bearded man who wants to be praised all the time or to consume as much as possible and who ever has the most when they die wins.

The Astrology of 2018

Good Witches Homestead

Over the past ten years, the people of planet Earth have experienced a cataclysmic shift that has affected virtually every area of human life.  Pluto (planet of deep transformational forces) changed signs in 2008, moving from expansive Sagittarius which embraced migration and “one world” culture as well as celebrity and theology into the contracting sign of Capricorn which insists on being practical and creating strong foundations that can’t be buffeted around by the whims of the world.  Pluto then was drawn into a protracted conflict with Uranus, a planet of rebellion and revolution, in the individualistic sign of Aries and predictably, revolutions occurred around the world.  The Arab Spring, the Trump revolution in the US, Brexit in the UK, revolutions in the UK, and a dismantling of governments in Africa and elsewhere (Pluto in Capricorn) by revolutionary forces (Uranus in Aries).

I believe that 2018 will be the year of…

Growth

Everything has cycles … Expansion – Contraction … Construction – Destruction. It is all part of daily life.

secretsoftheserpent

Growth is what we are here to do. Growth is creativity. It does not matter what you grow in, just as long as you grow. Growth is not possible without practice and training. All to often we think of victory as growth. Nature does not care about victory, she is only interested in growth. Growth is possible only to the one who is constantly expanding his or her abilities. When you think you have won, you stop growing. A team that is not challenged will not get better. If you are playing a video game and it is to easy, eventually you will get bored with it. I am not saying accept defeat. Defeat is a state of mind. The person who realizes all growth possibilities are with in themselves never accepts defeat.

Essential Oils

Good Witches Homestead

If you pass through the natural health aisles of your local grocery store, you’re likely to see small glass bottles of curious liquids with poignant aromas that could fill a room. Scents like lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree oil and orange line the shelves next to oil blends with promising labels like Anxiety Release, Detoxification Aide, Energize, Immune Support, Meditative Mood, and more. While some modern shoppers may be speculative of these products, ancient homemade versions of these single note essential oils and essential oil blends have been used for nearly 6,000 years for everything from traditional medical practices to spiritual rituals.

What are Essential Oils?

Essential oils are highly concentrated fragrant essences extracted from herbs, flowers, fruits, and other plants that give them their unique aromas. They are commonly used in perfume, food flavoring, medicine, massage therapy, and aromatherapy to support a general feeling of well-being. Essential oils also “have a potential…

Dealing With An Annoying Relative This Holiday Season

By Amy Brucker

Is there someone you’re dreading seeing for the holidays?

Someone that sucks the life out of you? Someone that makes everything more difficult than it needs to be?

Instead of letting that person pull you into darkness, try being a healing presence instead:

Start by connecting to Source (God, Goddess, your higher self, the Universe)
Notice the person who is upsetting you (or who has upset you in the past).
See their annoying traits as defensive postures that are protecting something vulnerable.
Conjure up empathy for their situation.
See beyond their defenses.
See them as needing love and support.
Look at them with the eyes of Divine Love. (Connect with your heart and when you look at them, feel your heart shining through your eyes.)
Give them some love.
Open to Source for guidance on what needs to be said, done, or given in that moment. Don’t try to force this to happen. Just let it come to you.
Do it.

Are You Listening with Resistance or Presence?

When you listen to someone, you can listen with resistance or with an open heart.

If you listen with resistance, you might have an inner conversation that sounds like, “Dear God, when will they shut up?” If you do this, you’ll end up feeling exhausted, depleted, and ready to leave because you’re fighting against what’s happening, and that requires a lot of energy.

But if you listen with presence, with an open heart, practicing the above process, you might be surprised at what can happen. You might help that person move beyond their pain, even if just a little bit, so they can experience some light shining on their darkness.

I’m not suggesting you spend hours listening to Aunt Betty complain for hours about her ex-husband Joe, but try this process and see what happens.

If you need to, wear a talisman to help you remember. A bracelet or ring is a good option because you’ll see it whenever you look down. Before you go, charge the talisman with your intention to be present and look through the eyes of Divine Love.

Share with me what happens!

Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa to those who celebrate,
Amy

Reasons for the Season

secretsoftheserpent

I have several new readers this year that are not familiar with some earlier works. This is the perfect day to show the truth of so many traditions that take place this time of year. Instead of  reblogging all of them, I will give a link to them in this post along with a summary of what they are about. Whatever it is you are celebrating this holiday, please keep in mind yourself. Everything about religion is for you to give your power away. The only truth in this world lies in yourself. So Happy (enter your name here)mas!!!!

A Little Yuletide Crystal Magic

By Krista Mitchell

Yuletide Blessings & Season’s Greetings!

We’ve made it through the darkest time, and longest night, of the year.
Slowly but surely the sun will begin to wax, and while they still feel far away, the warm days will come again.

We’re moving into a potent phase of intention setting and manifestation magic from the 25th to the 6th (the original 12 days of Yuletide or Christmas), when our thoughts and hopes will look to a fresh start at the new year.

According to the ancient Celtic and Druidic calendars, the month of Birch begins today. The birch tree symbolizes new beginnings, rebirth, and resurrection. In the runic language of the old Norse, it symbolizes fertility, healing, prosperity, and the feminine mysteries.

A Little Yuletide Crystal Magic

To consciously welcome in the magic, healing, and blessings this time brings:

  1. Place a candle in your window at twilight, the magical “between and betwixt time” revered by the Druids. (An LED candle is fine, safety first!)
  2. Using your saliva (or a sacred oil) and your index finger, draw the runic Berkana symbol (meaning “birch”, pictured above) on your window.
  3. Hold a piece of quartz and whisper your desires for healing, renewal, fertility or prosperity into the quartz.
  4. Leave the quartz beside your candle throughout the night, symbolizing the light of your dreams blazing through the darkness.
  5. Keep the quartz with you, place it on your altar, or bury it in your garden after the Spring thaw.

May magic, healing, love and hope bless you and yours this holiday season!

Warmest wishes,

🌟Krista🌟

The Mind

secretsoftheserpent

When you look out into the night sky, the forest, city streets, across a lake or anywhere else, you are seeing your mind. The mind is not the brain. The brain is just the receiver. Because this receiver sees in poles or duality we see everything as something or nothing. We always see what is there, but never think about what is not there. How can you know what is there without the contrast of what is not there?
