They are all stars.  The star is the most widely revered of all esoteric symbols.  Its on just about every countries flag and is associated with magic, paganism, devilry and christian mysticism.  Islam even has it on their flag.  Everyone has their own idea of what this symbol means to their cause, but no one knows the true meaning of this symbol.  Time to enlighten.

Things Witches and Wizards Don’t Do

secretsoftheserpent

I have written a few post of what Witches and Wizards do, but I have not written a post on what they don’t do.  There are certain things Witches and Wizards won’t do simply because it does not benefit them to do it.  Not doing something can more powerful than actually doing something.  Just like silence can be more powerful than speaking in certain situations.  Here are a few things Witches and Wizards don’t do.  If you can think of anymore leave them in the comments below.  I would love to hear them.

Say NO to Witch School

There were many times in my youth I thought about ‘witch school’ with people who were supposedly reputable, but something always stopped me. Sometime later it would come out that they weren’t so reputable after all. Maferefun to my ancestors for their protection.

Why it is Awesome to be a Witch or Wizard

By secretoftheserpent

secretsoftheserpent

I know when you say the word Witch most of the masses gasp.  Muggles think Witches are evil or there is something psychologically wrong with them.  In this patriarchal society, the word Wizard does not bring up the same fearful thoughts.  You must put the word bad, evil or dark in front of  Wizard before it starts to scare muggles.  In general the masses just think the guy is probably nuts.  If you are a true Witch or Wizard, other Witches and Wizards will know who you are and they will respect you.  The ones who control the masses and muggles know who you are and they are not going to mess with you.  They don’t want the world slipping into another dark age.  When they screw up, they need the magical people to fix it.  They know that a…

Depolarization

secretsoftheserpent

One of my first ever posts was called Magic. I went in to explain how to get started with Magic and how learn it. It was quite a long post. I had some tell me to turn it into a novel. I’m going to break that post down into categories. That way I can expand upon each category and hopefully help those who really want to learn magic. The first category will be depolarizing yourself. Everything starts in the mind, so if your mind is unbalanced, your life and magic will be unbalanced too.

Eleven Traits of Witches and Wizards

secretsoftheserpent

I’m often asked, “How do I know if I’m a Witch or Wizard?” I can often tell that if the person is genuinely curious, they are nervous. They have it in their mind that a person who is into magic sits in their parent’s basement and plays with wands and dresses in robes. That is what this world has reduced magic to. This is because the world is in the masculine mindset and has been for the last 5,000 years or so. A true Witch or Wizard has tapped into the power of the sacred feminine. People fear the feminine energy because they don’t understand it. We have brutalized and suppressed the sacred feminine. Governments and religions have put the world into a severe masculine mindset. We have no idea what sacred masculine or sacred feminine actually is. Everything about this world from the top to the bottom is ME…

Witches of America | Alex Mar

“Witches are gathering…”

When most people hear the word “witches,” they think of horror films and Halloween, but to the nearly one million Americans who practice Paganism today, witchcraft is a nature worshipping, polytheistic, and very real religion. So Alex Mar discovers when she sets out to film a documentary and finds herself drawn deep into the world of present-day magic.

Witches of America follows Mar on her immersive five-year trip into the occult, charting modern Paganism from its roots in 1950s England to its current American mecca in the San Francisco Bay Area; from a gathering of more than a thousand witches in the Illinois woods to the New Orleans branch of one of the world’s most influential magical societies. Along the way she takes part in dozens of rituals and becomes involved with a wild array of characters: a government employee who founds a California priesthood dedicated to a Celtic goddess of war; American disciples of Aleister Crowley, whose elaborate ceremonies turn the Catholic mass on its head; second-wave feminist Wiccans who practice a radical separatist witchcraft; a growing “mystery cult” whose initiates trace their rites back to a blind shaman in rural Oregon. This sprawling magical community compels Mar to confront what she believes is possible—or hopes might be.

With keen intelligence and wit, Mar illuminates the world of witchcraft while grappling in fresh and unexpected ways with the question underlying every faith: Why do we choose to believe in anything at all? Whether evangelical Christian, Pagan priestess, or atheist, each of us craves a system of meaning to give structure to our lives. Sometimes we just find it in unexpected places.
