CRYSTAL POWER FOR THE NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS: BECOMING

Aquarius New Moon Crystals / krista-mitchell.com

So after months of shifting, releasing, facing things, planning… Isn’t it nice to be emerging into energy that’s all about us BECOMING?

If you’re ready for the good times to roll, then start rolling, because by many accounts this is an auspicious new moon especially for new projects!

Of course, as is always the case with Universal energy, it’s all in how you use it.

Aquarius represents the mind, the greater good, the sum of the parts, the group vs. the individual. It is a sign of humanitarianism, selflessness, and ideals.

As is mirrored by the energy of this new moon, we’re in a place now where, having done the work, we can forge new paths and open up to new ways of being.

The challenge is in grounding all of this mental energy: We need to pursue the plans we’ve made and the ideas we’re having in order for them to happen. And we also need to be mindful of overcoming any fear or resistance that may come up in response to the newness of it all.

I freely admit that, while I have been consciously working towards all of this in my own experience, there’s also a fear popping up of who I will BE in this new paradigm of mine. What will my life be like, what will I be like? It’s unchartered territory which is exciting but also shoves me out of my comfort zone. And my ego really likes my comfort zone.

It’s a very human, unconscious fear of change and of the unknown. But while that fear feels it’s serving to protect me, I know it will only succeed in holding me back and keeping me from feeling happier and more fulfilled.

Does any of this resonate for you?

If so, my Akashic guides have some advice and also a little experiment for you to for this lunar cycle!

Sacred Tree Profile: Juniper’s Medicine, Magic, Mythology and Meanings

Dana's avatarThe Druid's Garden

Here on the East Coast of the USA, we are still in deep winter. Soon, the maples will be flowing.  Soon, the winter snows will melt.  Soon, spring will return.  But until that time, the conifers, particularly offer strength and wisdom.  One of my favorite conifers is Juniper, also known as Eastern Red Cedar.  It is delightful to come across a wild juniper in the winter months, with her sweet and pine-scented berries and her delightful sprigs that offer friendship and hope through the darkest times.  So come with me today as we explore the sacred Juniper tree.

This post is part of my Sacred Trees in the Americas series, where I explore sacred trees within a specifically American context, drawing upon folklore, herbalism, magic, and more!  I think it’s particularly important that US druids and those following other nature-based paths in North America understand…

Imbolc Celebration..

february-imbolc

This holiday is called many names including Imbolc, Oímealg, Lá Fhéile Bríde, Laa’l Breeshey, and Gwyl Mair Dechrau’r Gwanwyn and was originally celebrated when the ewes first began to lactate. Some older sources mention Imbolc being celebrated on February 13th, although now the date is fixed on February 2nd. This holiday is a celebration of the loosening of winters hold on the land and the first signs of spring’s immanent arrival. Three main types of ceremonies could be undertaken – purification with water, blessing with fire, and consecration of talismans or charms. In addition, the main ritual theme centered on inviting the goddess Brighid into the home, either in effigy or in the form of a person acting the part.

The fire represents the growing light of the sun. Candles are lit to celebrate the increased daylight, and often candles were blessed for use in the year to come; this…

The Energies of February

Crooked Bear Creek Organic Herbs's avatarGood Witches Homestead

As February begins, we find ourselves feeling a little bemused as to how January has managed to slip past quite so fast but definitely enjoying the lengthening daylight hours and the promise they hold that spring is not too far away. Before we get to that though, February seems set on living up to its reputation as being one of the coldest months of winter with low temperatures and snow on the menu for most of us for the next little while.

The start of February is the midpoint between the December solstice and the March equinox, an occasion traditionally marked by the Celtic fire festival Imbolc, a celebration that honors the slowly returning light in the northern hemisphere. The corresponding festival for those in the southern hemisphere is Lammas, which traditionally celebrates the gathering in of the first fruits of the year’s harvest.  Chinese New Year will be celebrated…
