OPENING THE ROAD: A CRYSTAL FIRE RITUAL

By Krista Mitchell

Crystal Fire Ritual / krista-mitchell.com

What are you ready to let go?

As we near the end of the calendar year, this is a big and important question.

Why?

Because no matter how this past year went for you (stellar, some hits / some misses, total clunker), this next year represents an opportunity to go bigger and better, achieve more goals, or have a fresh start.

And while many of us focus on what we intend to attract, create or achieve in the new year, not as many contemplate what they’re willing to release in order to create space for their dreams, opening the road to success.

So far in this year-end series we’ve cut cords to past relationships, and unblocked our inner resistance to positive change. Now, we’re ready to release what’s inside that no longer serves, and open the road.

Why This New Moon Is a Game Changer!

Labradorite
You may not feel it yet, due to the challenging aspects that the Sun is making to Mars and Neptune, lowering levels of personal energy — but let me assure you — this New Moon is truly  something special!

For the first time in 12 years it is coming up in Sagittarius together with the ruler of Sagittarius, whose keywords are luck,
optimism, new opportunities, growth, learning, expansion,
far-away places, travel!

New Moon opens up the energy for new beginnings so starting Friday and till the end of the month, you may feel this
“new life” Fire energy starting to build.
Don’t let the temporary dive of Mars and Neptune into the
oceanic depths mislead you into believing otherwise. They will try — but only so that you can test your faith, your belief in unseen magical world of goodness that is waiting for you.

This is the real test of faith — and another keyword for the
energy of this New Moon — to believe in the
greater meaning and the bigger picture, even when — and especially when — you can not yet see them. Remember that the New Moon actually means Dark Moon — if you look at the sky there is no evidence still that the Moon even exists. And
yet, it is there, ready to grow.

So if you can have that kind of trust on Friday and this
weekend — write out your biggest dreams relating to any of the keywords listed above while looking at the candle flame, to emphasize the Fire Element and then meditate with
Orange Calcite, Citrine, Imperial Topaz or Labradorite.
Buy a new notebook and write them all out! Go big, play with
it, you have nothing to lose!

And to go even bigger and solve some of your more persistent
questions about your life’s journey — check out the
Astro-Archetypes New Year Workshop — offered in
Williamsburg, VA on December 29th in collaboration with
Kathy Eckhardt — all other details are here:
https://crystalcosmopolitan.com/astro-archetypes-new-year-workshop/

[BTW — IF you have already sent me an email
registering for the workshop and did not receive my reply —
remember that Mercury is still retrograde, so please send again! I always reply and if I didn’t — that means I did not get it!]

As you see, understand, feel and expand your energy through
playing with your Astro-Archetypes in the unique ways that
we’ll do it, you will begin to notice how easily a new path
starts forming in front of you, leading you to places
you’ve always longed for . . .
Let the magic of transformations begin!

Till then,Stay happy and healthy!

CUTTING CORDS TO PAST RELATIONSHIPS: A WANING MOON CRYSTAL RITUAL

By Krista Mitchell

Past-relationship-crystal-ritual / krista-mitchell.com

For those of us who live in the northern hemisphere, we’ve now entered the dark time of the wheel of the year. The days are short, cold, and the nights become longer right up to the solstice on December 21st.

The dark time of the wheel of the year is a phase in which healing, releasing, and facing our shadows can become most potent.

North or south, we are currently in a waning moon phase, another powerful time of healing, releasing, banishing, and, the last waning moon phase before the solstice (which, I might add, falls on a full moon!).

In ancient times the solstice marked the beginning of a new year. The sun is “reborn” as it slowly begins to grow stronger, the days increasingly longer and warmer.

It is a time when intentions are set, magic is worked, the sun is celebrated, sacred woods are burned in holy fires, and there is feasting and fun. Life continues on and will gradually return to the land.

Following nature’s calendar, we have the opportunity now to begin preparing ourselves for a better year.

Full Cold Moon in Gemini | A Vision Board Ritual — Spirit de la Lune

Crooked Bear Creek Organic Herbs's avatarGood Witches Homestead

Tonight is the Full Cold Moon, and those of us in the northern hemisphere are likely going to feel a turn in the weather from here on out as the Full November Moon often marks colder temperatures on the way.

The Full Moon in Gemini is the perfect time for planning ahead and envisioning your future. Typically New Moon’s hold great energy for setting intention, but the Cold Moon represents an ebb in energy, and that couldn’t be more perfect as Mercury is in Retrograde until the 6th of December. Take this time to look at your intentions and goals. Rework what needs to be reworked! Refine your intention.

Happy Full Moon!

Full Moon in Gemini

Dear all,
This Full Moon in Gemini — Thursday and Friday — (check the full details below) — brings the energy of increased communication and higher learning, and you can go deeper with something that you started learning last year at about this time.
At the same time, while you may clear up or revise something from the past, make sure that you present any new ideas with clarity and patience.
The need to be right may be stronger than usual and the need to teach or preach may become overbearing if you don’t practice moderation.
Due to the stressful aspects between this Moon and Mars, as well as Mercury retrograde, you need to be EXTRA careful to avoid any arguments as well as while driving Thursday and Friday.
The Moon enters Gemini an hour before midnight and reaches its peak (becomes completely Full) at 39 minutes after midnight on the 23rd EST, less than a day after Sun enters Sagittarius.
Crystals to use: Fluorite, Aquamarine, Mahogany Obsidian
The mind may go into overdrive, so if you can’t sleep, you can meditate (check out my recorded Better Sleep meditations https://crystalcosmopolitan.com/meditation/ or use that “awake time” to put on paper some practical plans.
If you need any energy sessions (Crystal Reiki, Accunect or Tesla Healing) to carry you through or recover afterwards 🙂 — you know where to find me — crystalcosmopolitan.com and universalenergywaves.com
Happy Thanksgiving!

Home-Grown and Wildcrafted Smudge Sticks: Plant List and Recipes

Dana's avatarThe Druid's Garden

Basket of newly made smudge sticks Basket of newly made smudge sticks

Creating homemade smudge sticks with local ingredients is a wonderful activity to do this time of year.  As the plants die back, you can harvest whatever you aren’t using for other purposes and create a number of beautiful smudges that can be used for many different purposes: clearing, honoring spirits, protection, setting intentions, letting go, bringing in, preparing for ritual or mediation, and much more.

A few years ago, I wrote an initial post on homemade smudge sticks using local ingredients–this has become my most popular post on my blog.  Given that, I wanted to offer a follow-up post with some additional information and share a few smudge stick recipes for specific purposes. For initial instructions on how to make your sticks, please see my first post.  This post expands the plant list that you can use to make smudges and also offers…

Making Smudge Sticks from Homegrown Plants and Wildharvested Materials: Step by Step Instructions with Cedar, Rosemary, Sage, Mugwort, and More!

Dana's avatarThe Druid's Garden

I recently posted about my research on Eastern White Cedar, and I wanted to follow-up that post with information on making smudge sticks, inspired by Eastern White Cedar. Smudge sticks are bundles of herbs that are dried and burned for purification and ceremonial uses. They come out of Native American traditions, but today they are broadly used by many for their purification purposes.  I use them as a druid in my ceremonies, to bless and cleanse my house, to cleanse outdoor spaces that are in some kind of energetic funk.  But I also use them practically–as a blessing for my garden at the start of the growing season, as a way to remove hostile energies from my chickens who aren’t getting along, or to pass among friends before sharing a meal.  They are a great way to bring a bit of ceremony and the sacred into the everyday.
