What is Enlightenment? ~ Secrets of the Serpent

By gserperent

I’ve been asked What is Enlightenment? All the so-called gurus give little bits and pieces to keep the people coming back. Most of them make it into a spiritual thing, which is okay, as long as you realize nothing is outside of you. Enlightenment can be very spiritual, but it is an individual experience that must be your own. The ancient sages always put wisdom or knowledge and enlightenment together. You must bring out the fire-breathing dragon. If you don’t have the fire(intellect), you are just a baby dragon who will be led by their chains to do other people’s bidding.

Knowledge should be sought to energize life. Ancient history is very important. Exploring history is exploring the depths within yourself. The strength of a tree begins in the roots. You are a very complex being. The statues in Hinduism that show the deity with many arms is symbolizing that you are many persons within one. The deities are yourself. Most individuals fear the complex depth within. They remain on the superficial and surface layers of the psyche. This is why I always ask “Are you ready to meet yourself”? Very few will descend the depth of their mind. Those that do successfully will create wholeness. The modern individual has lost touch with the subconscious. Getting in touch with your subconscious is literally magic(See Magic).

The past of every culture and way of life flows in to us today. Just observing ourselves is not enough. The past flows on within us. We as a whole do not know history, so it keeps repeating itself. We have lost faith in history and have fallen into a restless, constant search for novelty after novelty. Just like our bodies have relics of early developmental stages, our minds have depths that reach back into the stages of our creation. If you are familiar with my work, you know that an alien race created the human race(see Lemurian Magic). They mixed their DNA with the hominid species that was already here. So our minds and bodies have both the alien and hominid stages built right into them. If you have ever tried to trace your family lineage, you know just how hard it can be to trace your lineage. Do you realize how complex it makes it by throwing in two separate species? Two whole new paths to trace your DNA.  On the alien side you may have to go back billions of years. That is how long this alien species had been around. This is why the ancients said we are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of personalities in one being. This is how complex you really are. This world herds us into thinking the same. They know what our minds are capable of and they shackle our minds.

Throughout history ancient philosophers have put people into two categories: the individual or higher human and the herd. Philosophers saw the individual as the most important thing a human can do for enlightenment. They are not talking about the individualism that is spoon fed to the masses. They were talking about real creative, stand alone genius. This is why they refer to them as higher humans. They have goals, are okay with being different, are good with solitude and can live independently. When I say independently, I don’t mean going out and living in the middle of nowhere or the fear based Preppers. I mean they have the freedom to live life to its fullest potential as they desire. When I say solitude, I mean they can be alone with themselves. When they are alone they actually do their greatest work or creating. Then there are the rest or the herd. Philosophers even see the people the herd look up to like sports stars, actors or business leaders as still being in the herd. The only power a herd person has is to band into groups. They saw true individuals as someone who does not want to pluck the fruit from the tree they plant in their own lifetime. No the true higher person will plant their tree of ideas for the fruit to be plucked long after they are gone.

Our morality turns us into a herd animal or someone eager to please and is mediocre. Our morality is anti-natural. People just blindly adopt the judgements of their society. You must understand that when it comes to the universal force there is no wrong or right. Is it wrong for the cheetah to kill the antelope to feed her cubs? Duality is built right into nature. Except it as a whole. The herd wages war on all that is strange, what they see as privileged, the higher human, the abundance of creative power and masterfulness. Herd morality, whether it is religion, political or any other idealism, gives people an escape from themselves. Comfort and contentment are their supreme values. They become judgmental of strangers and lose their love for mankind as a whole. Ideas and Ideals of the herd should rule the herd, but not reach beyond it. The enlightened person says yes to life and accepts life as a whole.

The saying “What does not kill me makes me stronger” has so much truth in it. When people figure out that suffering is a part of this life, they either become a Nihilist or they want to escape it and they make up things like other worlds such as heaven. In other words, they either say life sucks, has no purpose and ends in death or they make up a perfect world, utopia or heaven to work towards. This is why so many people hate when I say that you have to flow with life. I am not referring to flowing by accepting someones elses or some gods decisions, or that you have a predestined fate you have to follow. I am referring to the flowing of your own life. I am of the ancient school that reality, the cosmic energies or nature is alive. Dualism is built right in to our reality. What we consider destruction and chaos is built right into our reality. Which means pain and suffering is something that is natural. It creates life, just look at the birth of a child. Negative and destruction are good, but it requires strength. The Dionysus cult called it ‘Divine Madness’ because it refreshes and replenishes, it keeps you from stagnation. The ancients believed that growing stronger through tragedy is the highest state someone could attain. Knowing this gives you the strength of the cosmic river behind you, but you have a rudder to steer with the current. It is when you go against the current, like the human race does on a whole, you have problems. Flow with nature. Just by seeing the beauty in nature you become enlightened.

Magic of the Night ~ Spirit Owl – Good Witches Homestead

Source: Magic of the Night ~ Spirit Owl – Good Witches Homestead

The Owl is, of course, a very real and material raptor which comes in many sizes and shapes. However, the owl is also an extremely powerful totem animal surrounded by myth and lore and this makes the Spirit Owl’s feathers useful for magical cores. The spirit-owl comes in dreams and visions offering her aid and wisdom. Her haunting call, “who, who?” asks the deep question of one’s identity. Who are you? Silent hunter of the night, the owl has been depicted as the messenger of wizards and witches, and a form favored by aerial shapeshifters.

In Welsh myth, the owl is linked to Bloduwedd, the maiden made of flowers who was created by Gwydion to marry his nephew Lleu. She later betrayed her husband with a lover and for that was punished by being turned into an owl. In this story, the owl is chosen perhaps for its predatory nature to indicate that Bloduwedd, far from being the idealized flower-maiden her male creators intended (gentle and beautiful), she had a mind of her own and the heart of a raptor. Druid justice seeks not to “punish” so much as to recognize the true nature — at least in this case! Owls are still called bloduwedd in Welsh.
Used as a magical core, the feather of the spirit owl shines with a misty gray light, faintly blue like starlight on snow. Its powers are for wisdom, cunning, and stealth, for the owl is the companion and emblem of the Hellenic Goddess Athena, wise leader of Attic Greece and patroness of cunning Odysseus. The owl spirit lends great powers of secrecy — both for keeping secrets and unlocking things that are hidden. It is well-suited to magic of forests and animals, and to magic of the night.

Quetzalcoatl – secretsoftheserpent

asni_quetzalcoatl_16

If you look up Quetzalcoatl, even Wikipedia will tell you he is an Aztec god. The Aztecs were late in the game. They were like the Greeks and Romans to the Egyptians. The Romans and Greeks took the Egyptian gods and goddesses and renamed them along with making a few of their own. The Aztecs just adopted the Mayan gods like Quetzalcoatl, but didn’t rename them. To really understand Quetzalcoatl you have to be an initiate of Atlantean Mystery School. That is where I come in.

It is now generally admitted that Quetzalcoatl, Votan, Gucumatz and Kulkulkan are the same person. Each of these names means feathered, plumed or winged serpent. Everything that we think we know about the Mayans is pure nonsense. Everything we know about the Mayans comes from the Catholic church. On July 12,1562 Spanish bishop Diego De Lunda did what Christians and all religions do best, he burned all the books of the Yucatan Maya. He didn’t get his hands on the Popul Vuh, but in 1701 father Ximenez translated the Popul Vuh from K’iche’ to Spanish. After it was abscond from a university in Guatemala and taken to France, it was translated into French and then to English. The church tries to keep people from reading it by calling it the Mayan Bible. Popul Vuh literally means “Book of the Mat”. This had to do with the woven mats the people would sit on to hear the work of a Mystery School or council house. To the Mayan people it is not regarded as the ‘word of god’ or a ‘sacred scripture’, but as an account of the ancient world and the workings of the cosmos.

Just to show you how bad the deceit is of Quetzalcoatl this is what mainstream world knows of him, if they know him at all. Quetzalcoatl was born to a virgin and the universal creator god. He was a white man who performed miracles and healed the sick. He was known as the prince of peace and was crucified. He did penance and was known as the bright and morning star(lucifer). Sound familiar. It is all bullocks!!!!! Why would the church go so far as to make Quetzalcoatl sound like Jesus? Well the Masons were in the process of making a new Masonic religion called Mormonism. This religion was going to be the bridge to get the Natives to become Christians. It even says in the Book of Mormon that Jesus visited the American continent after his resurrection. I couldn’t make this garbage up if I wanted to. Joseph Smith was a Mason. They succeeded in making him a martyr. Masonry controls all religions. I can’t put all the blame on the European Masons. The Native Americans, Mayans, Aztec, Incas and all of the Americas native people had secret societies that were very Masonic. When the European Masons came over and met the Native’s secret societies, their rituals were almost identical to the Masonic rituals. All this secret society stuff goes back to Atlantis and Lemuria. After the war of the gods each civilization took on their own version(See Lemurian Magic). They even go so far as to make Quetzalcoatl into another King Solomon. They say he owned all the wealth of the world in gold, silver and gems, then built a temple or palace. He later burned it down and no one knows where it was located.

So what is the truth about Quetzalcoatl? He was the son of the primordial androgynous god Ometeotl. If you have read my Lemurian Magic post you know who the androgynous gods were. One of Quetzalcoatl names was Amaru and that is where the name America comes from. Amaruca is literally translated to “Land of the Plumed Serpent”. He is credited with bringing wisdom, culture and the invention of the hieroglyphic writing of the Mayans. He also created a 13 symbol lunar calendar. This puts him on par with Thoth of the Egyptians. There are images of him with a shepherd’s crook or bishops crosier. This tells me that the Mayans were around as far back as the time of Aries, which was from about 1800 BCE to 1 CE. Many of his images he looks to be wearing spotted Jaguar skin. The Goddess Seshat in Egypt was always depicted wearing spotted leopard skin. She was the Goddess of writing and wisdom. The spots had to do with the stars. Quetzalcoatl was a master astronomer. He was also a master magician or Magi. But the most important title  Quetzalcoatl had  was “Mater Builder”, as in Master Mason. The Mayan people knew he was real and he was a King.

Why are there so many different stories and conflicting dates about Quetzalcoatl? Just like the Pharaohs of Egypt took the names of the gods Osiris, Ra, Thoth or Horus, the Kings in the Mayan civilization took the name of Quetzalcoatl. The latter Quetzalcoatls have been confused into one person. Recent excavations show that the cult of Quetzalcoatl was established way before the Christian era began. The royals of the Central American nations, like those of Egypt, were initiates of the Mystery Schools. These rulers and the people of Central America were very wise. No matter how ignorant or primitive mainstream archeologists want to make them sound, it is not true. I found this description of Montezuma, who was elected to rule over the Nahuatlan nations. King Nazahualpilli stood before the congregated nation and congratulated them for having selected such a ruler: “Whose deep knowledge of heavenly things insured to his subjects his comprehension of those of an earthly nature”. Collections of Mendoza described Montezuma as: “By nature wise, and astrologer and philosopher, and skilled and generally versed in all the arts, both in those of military, as well as civil nature”. Montezuma was an Aztec King and the Aztec’s were no where nears as advanced as the Mayans. Even todays western civilizations are not as advanced as the Mayans.

Everything you have been taught about the Mayans and Native Americans is wrong. The Spanish and English made them out to be savages to make themselves feel better about stealing their land and possessions. The Christians called the Natives savages because they were not Christians, but the Christians were the ones acting like savages.  The symbol of the serpent tells me Quetzalcoatl was wise. All over the world and in every Mystery School the serpent is a symbol of wisdom. When plumed it meant the wisdom had been given wings and had become spirit wisdom, or illumination. Lets take it a step further. The snake lived underground and was thought to be the messenger of the underworld. For this reason rattlesnakes were released during snake dances, in order that they might carry messages to the goddess. See my Maat post as to why the goddess was needed to make it through the underworld. Birds were also carriers of tidings, they were released to carry messages to the Great Father who lived in the Sky-lodge. Put them together and you have a feathered serpent or winged serpent and it symbolized an initiate of the mysteries into the upper and lower regions. The secrets of which were revealed by an internal mystical experience. Mayan and Native philosophy had profound and significant values. They did not initiate those of feeble mind and only selected spiritually advance persons of high attainment and mature judgement. It was all about getting personal empowerment to the people who could handle it, which excludes 99% of todays population.

Quetzalcoatl was a real person. He wasn’t Jesus and he didn’t promise to come back as a white male god. He was the son of an original Lemurian. In the Toltec’s Song of the Feathered Serpent, it says that Quetzalcoatl arrived after the death of his homeland. The homeland being Lemuria. The ancient texts say all art, knowledge and science came from him. All the texts and legends I read say he didn’t have any kids or they don’t mention him having any. That does not mean anything to me because they tried to say Jesus didn’t have any kids either. We all know that is lie(See His Royal Jesus). Not only could the writers of the Popul Vuh been trying to protect him, but just like the Egyptian gods and goddesses, the Mayan gods and goddesses were aspects of the cosmos and yourself. The Mayans taught this to anyone who was ready, but as you can see our world hides it from us. The Lower Egyptians eradicated this kind of thought from Upper Egypt and then eradicated it from the world. There are to many similarities with Thoth to ignore. Could he have been the rebel son or grandson of Thoth? Thoth is the architect of most of the pyramids known today, but could Quetzalcoatl’s family have kept the architectural knowledge and built the Mayan Pyramids? It would explain why the Masons, Jews, and Christians chose, out of all the Mayan gods, Quetzalcoatl. Thoth is the god that all the Patriarch religions are worshipping(See God(s)). Something to think about.  This last part about Thoth is speculation, but when you know the true history of this world, things like that become possible.

Baphomet – secretsoftheserpent

By gserpent

Baphomet2

I can’t even begin to explain how bad the nonsense is on the internet about Baphomet. Baphomet is a symbol or deity that the Knights Templar were supposedly worshipping.
Those that are familiar with my work know I’m going to bring this symbol back down to earth and reveal the truth. To those that are coming to my work for the first time, I ask ”What if you are wrong about Baphomet being Satan”? After you have thought about that, press the continue reading button and we will get on with the truth.

Baphomet comes from the Greek ‘baphe metous’ and it means baptism in wisdom. With all the ridiculous nonsense about Baphomet going around, I can say we have not had a baptism in wisdom. The most ridiculous one I have seen is that Baphomet is a corruption of the name Mohammed. This is coming from modern scholars! Dan Brown came the closest in his novel, The Da Vinci Code, where he said the pentagram was a symbol of the sacred feminine. He is correct because the pentacle and pentagram are the 5 sided star that represent Venus. But Dan Brown knew exactly what he was doing when he named the girl Sophia. Sophia means wisdom. Why am I bringing the pentagram into this post of Baphomet? The goat head is the upside down pentacle.

The pentagram represents spiritual maturation. You can’t be spiritually mature without the sacred feminine. So of course this world is going to let you think that Baphomet is satan. As I have shown before, satan means opposer. Baphomet is symbolizing secret knowledge and sacred architecture. This is why the Masons use Baphomet. All the Templars were Masons and in on the secrets. Do you really think they would put George Washington in a pose of Baphomet if he was a Satan worshipper? Architecture and wisdom is what the Masons were all about at one time. Today it is just a good ol boy network with no knowledge.  A pentagram usually has a circle around it. This is the first hint of the true meaning of this symbol. The star by itself represents Venus. The circle is around it whether you view it right side up, upside down or sideways. When you look at it upside down you can see the horn, ears and beard of the goat. I think this was just a coincidence that they were able to put a goat head on an inverted star. The star of Venus has been around forever. Baphomet has only been around since the 10th century.

Although it is believed that the star of Venus is from the pattern the planet Venus makes in the night sky, it has more to do with phi or the golden number. Phi is inherent in the composition of the pentacle or pentagram, but phi is everywhere in nature. The pentacle is how they are putting nature in architecture, mainly the dome. This is why there is a circle around it. The dome in architecture represents the sky, mainly the night sky. Which is the ancient Egyptian Goddess Nut. So the dome in architecture is symbolizing Nut. It is not just the dome, all ancient architecture is using sacred geometry. Math is the universal language. Figure out the measurement any civilization was using and you can read the messages they were leaving. I works the other way too. You can leave a message in math and no matter how far in the future or what language they speak, they will understand. As long as they know the measurement you are using. Stonehenge screams pi. Check out Ralph Ellis’ work to see the message(s).

Most people think they got the head of Baphomet from Pan the goat god. Goat is where we get the word god and good. The Templars did not care about Pan, so it has nothing to do with Pan. The Templars knew the secrets of the bloodline of the biblical Jesus and the biblical family . The goat head was used for the very same reason Alexander the Great wore a goat horn helmet. It has to do with Aries. The biblical family was very powerful in the time of Aries, they were defeated in the time of Pisces. This matriarch family was used to create a patriarch religion in the time of Pisces known as Christianity(See his Royal Jesus). It is why Jesus is associated with the fish(Pisces). The Templars took the star sign of a goddess and put the Aries goat in it for the symbol of historical truth. In previous work I have shown that Egyptian royal females were the Queen of the Stars. Mary, the mother, and Mary Magdalen were Egyptian. This is a major reason the catholic church wanted the Templars gone(see Friday the Thirteenth).

The full-bodied Baphomet was a 19th century invention by Eliphas Levi. He is from France, the same place as Mary Magdalen. He was in the Hermetic, the Rosicrucianism movement and he was a Mason. Levi knew exactly what he was doing when he created the full bodied Baphomet. Having Baphomet point up and down is symbolizing “as above, so below”. To see how ancient architecture is related to the stars see Graham Hancock’s Heavens Mirror. The arms bear the Latin words Solve(separate) and Coagula(join together). This is referring to the same thing the caduceus in his lap is referring to, the separating and coming together of opposite forces. Mainly masculine and feminine forces. This is also why he made Baphomet androgynous, but being a Mason he knew the true history of this earth that I showed you in Lemurian Magic. The wings are the same as the Egyptian gods with wings symbolizing non physical, abstract dynamics, intellect, spiritual, imagination and psychic. Baphomet being seated is symbolizing fixed and embodied archetypes. The legs being crossed is the alchemical symbol for things you can not change. Levi has Baphomet sitting on a cube and this symbolized the same thing as being crucified, that you are enlightened.

Now do you see why Dan Brown used Sophia in The Da Vinci Code as the bloodline of Jesus? Baphomet symbolizes baptism in wisdom. Wisdom in architecture, enlightenment and knowledge of the true history of Jesus. That is why the Templars venerated Baphomet. To the ancients the most desired possession in life was wisdom. Today the most desired possession in life is the newest cellphone. That is why they can take Baphomet and make a religion of satan. The people worshipping Baphomet are worshipping the same thing the Christians are worshipping. Both are ignorant of the true meanings and are letting other people control their lives. I’m betting the people who introduced Baphomet to satan worshippers had a huge laugh while having a drink together. No doubt it was probably wine. You just had a baptism in wisdom. If you think I’m wrong about wisdom being lost in this world, stick a Baphomet picture or statue in your house or yard and sit back and watch the reactions.

One more last thing before I go.  I find it very interesting the the phi symbol (ɸ) is made by holding your finger to your mouth and saying shhhh.  It is time to quit being so secretive about wisdom in this world.

Saint Patrick’s Day – secretsoftheserpent

By

kissmepaganheritage

St. Patrick’s day is the day people celebrate St. Patrick. He is the British born missionary who is credited with converting Ireland to Christianity. Why are we celebrating a foreigner going into to Ireland and enforcing his will on the people? St. Patrick’s parents were not Irish either, they were Roman. I have always said that everything goes back to Egypt and this holiday is no exception.

I was going to do a post on St. Patrick himself, but the history of him has been monopolized by the church. Everything we know about him and his history is basically from his writings after he became a bishop. I have found some ancient texts that say he burned pagan books, but that is no surprise with the history of Christianity. I find it amusing that researchers scratch their heads about him casting out all the serpents from Ireland. Ireland has never been known to have snakes. The serpent is code for intelligent people. Most of the intelligent people were Druids or Witches. He either ran them off, converted them or killed them. If they were converted they weren’t serpents in the first place and given the history of Christianity I have no doubt he burned them with the books. He didn’t just become a bishop in the fifth century by converting people. In the Thesaurus Paleohibernicus it states “Patrick fought the Druids with a hard heart and crushed the proud”.

St. Patrick’s day first began during the revolutionary war. Britain and America were both trying to rally their troops and several had Irish ancestry. It was mainly a celebration by protestants. General George Washington declared that March 17, 1780 become a national holiday. Washington proclaimed “it was an act of solidarity with the Irish in their fight for independence”. This was the first holiday the soldiers had in two years. Washington and most of the American army were Masons. Masonry goes all the way back to Egypt. This was the beginning of St. Patrick’s day in America. In Ireland, St. Patrick’s day was always a religious holiday. Up until the 70’s the Irish government even had laws that closed pubs on March 17. It was in 1995 that the Irish government used St. Patrick’s day as a way to drive tourism and showcase Ireland. […]

Leprechaun – secretsoftheserpent

The Leprechaun was a little tough to pinpoint. First I thought that, like so many other myths, it had to do with the mind. As you will see, the Leprechaun has more with preserving history of this character than anything else. I started with the myths and legends in Ireland. First thing I come across is the leprechaun has something to do with the Faery people of the Tuatha De Danann. If you have read my previous work, you know this is right in my wheelhouse. I won’t go into depth here about the Tuatha De Danann, but if you don’t know much about these matriarchal people from ancient Ireland, your are definitely missing out on great history.

Come to find out leprechaun comes from the Sun God Lugh. I found out that it is pronounced luck. This doesn’t surprise me because London, Loudan, Lyons and other cities are named after Lugh. Leprechaun actually comes from Luchchromain meaning little Lugh or little Luck. Now you know where the luck of the Irish comes from. The original leprechaun were not green like they are today. In the past they always had a red outfit. Why would leprechauns be in red? Why were they changed to green? Why rainbows? Why gold? Just like so many things, we have to look to Egypt for the answer. If you have followed my earlier work, you know that Gaythelos was a Pharaoh of Egypt. He married a daughter of Akhenaton named Scota. Together they came to Ireland and Scotland and this is how we got the names Scotland and Ireland.  The term gaelic comes from Gaythelos.

Looking to Egypt, I found a dwarf bearded god named Bes. Bes was associated with sexuality, humor, music and dancing. Although he was the protector of Pharaohs, he was very popular with the Egyptian people because he protected women and children. I’m not saying that Bes is Lugh. I know better. Gaythelos conquered the Tuatha De Danann. The conquered pagans needed to keep the spirit of the people of Ireland intact and they made the Tuatha De Danann into Faery people. This way the history would be remembered. St. Patrick and the Christians made the Faery people evil. Then Disney made them what they are today. Lugh was incorporated with Bes by  scribes who were ardent to Gaythelos and his group.  I have shown before that the scribes love to outwit each other.  These scribes were preserving the the Egyptian connection of Ireland and Scotland.   Gaythelos was very close to Akhenaton and Bes was found all over the city that Akhenaton built. I have seen where some researchers have said that Bes comes from Ethiopia or Nubia. Again this shows just how well are history has been hidden from us or lost. As I have shown before, the scribes have purposely made Upper Egypt to be Ethiopia. (See Patriarch Pharaohs) Bes originated in Upper Egypt. Because he was a sun-god, Akhenaton used him. Aton is the sun god Akhenaton worshipped. If it had to do with the sun, Akhenaton was on board.

Bes had a female version named Beset. So where are the female leprechauns? Early legends of leprechauns had women. It wasn’t till St. Patrick and the Christians that the female leprechauns were first turned into “little women that lure away men for secret adventures”, then just disappearing. Yes, Christians turned the leprechaun into the solitary male that some how reproduces. Is this surprising? The leprechaun wore red to show that they were brought from Egypt with Gaythelos. Gaythelos was from the red crown of Lower Egypt. They switched the leprechauns to green to hide this fact. Because there are true illuminati out there, they hid clues in plain sight. The stuff on the internet about the Illuminati is ridiculous(See Lemurian Magic). They had to hide clues that the papacy wasn’t smart enough to figure out. If they actually came out and told the truth, they would be burned at the stake. This is where the rainbow and gold come in.

I started with the shoes, but the only thing I could find is shoes symbolize walking your path.  Leprechauns being shoe builders, I believe symbolizes creating your own path. I switched to the rainbow and found that the ancients saw rainbows as a serpent coming out of the ground then going back in. Serpents have to do with wisdom, but I was none the wiser. Christians see the rainbow as a promise from god not to flood the earth again. Bullocks! Then I found Lugh’s sling. Lugh’s sling was the rainbow!!! This was put into the leprechaun legend to show where it came from. These scribes are clever. The color was changed to green to show the leprechaun origins are from Upper Egypt? Osiris is from Upper Egypt and the green man all over the world is Osiris. Yes the little green men and gargoyles on churches is Osiris. One researcher I found even linked Bes to a form of Osiris. Just to add to the wittiness of the myth the Irish name for the sun is Grian(pronounced green).  So the rainbow is showing you the leprechauns connection to Lugh and green is showing the Egyptian connection.  When you think of Egypt, besides pyramids, what is the first things that comes to mind? Gods and gold is it not? The gold is yet another clue where to look, Egypt. Figure out the rainbow and you get the gold and the knowledge.

Cupid – secretsoftheserpent

cupid-and-psyche-1793

Cupid is the Rome equivalent to Eros and their names basically mean ‘desire’. Desire is the reason we humans have time. It is also said the Cupid is the god of erotic love, attraction and affection, hence we say he is the god of love. It is because of misinterpreting the myths and legends that we think the ancients were obsessed with sex. The myths are way more beautiful when they are translated correctly.

Most people know cupid as a chubby little baby with a bow and arrow. In the ancient myths he is a slender, young, handsome man. The chubby baby is a Renaissance period invention. Cupid is usually a minor character in stories except for the tale of Cupid and Psyche. This is the myth I will be explaining to you. The myth of Cupid and Psyche is the origin of Beauty and the Beast. Before we start I have to tell you the true symbolism for Cupid is lunar worship and the bow and arrow symbolize masculine and feminine. When he shoots his arrows it symbolizes creation. He is also a winged god and winged gods symbolize non-physical abstract dynamics such as intellect, spiritual, imagination and psychic.

The story of Cupid and Psyche is a beautiful story of consciousness with astrological and nature symbolism ingrained. Psyche has unearthly beauty and Venus becomes jealous of her. This has astrological symbolism because on a clear moonless night Venus is the brightest star that everyone notices, but on a moon lit night the moon out shines Venus. The planet Venus is jealous because the beauty of the Moon takes the mortals attention away from her.

The name Psyche is where we get psychology. Unless you took psychology or you like myths, you probably never heard of her. In ancient Greek psyche means ‘soul’. Now why would we get a term for the mind that means ‘soul’. To understand what is going on here, you have to be a student of Hermetic. In the Principal of Mentalism it says “The All is Mind; The Universe is Mental”. To go deeper on you still, you are not a soul in your body, you are a body in your soul. Psyche being a female is showing you that this universal energy is feminine. It is why nature is always portrayed as a female.

Venus sends her son, Cupid, to use one of his arrows on Psyche. This would make Psyche fall in love with a human monster. In this story Cupid is the masculine energy with Psyche being the feminine energy. Cupid is so astonished by Psyche’s beauty that he accidentally shoots himself. From that moment, Cupid was irrevocably in love with Psyche. Psyche and her parents now realize that her beauty has angered the gods. The go to the Temple of Apollo and find out that no mortal man can have her hand in marriage, but her future husband, that is a monster, awaits her on top of a mountain. Mountains symbolize the mountain you have to climb to reach enlightenment.

Psyche goes to the highest cliff and is swept away by he west wind, Zephyr. Wind always represents your thoughts or mastering your thoughts. She is brought to a beautiful valley that has a palace so magnificent that only the gods could have built it. Going from a high cliff to a valley is showing that this universal energy peaks and wanes. The palace is representing individuality. The palace is surrounded by luscious trees and a  crystalline fountain. Here we have the water that represents her emotions. The trees represent the Tree of Life(see Tree of Life post) and the higher you go the more grounded you have to be. Psyche accepts that this is her new home, but does not know that Cupid is the stranger that lives here.

Cupid makes Psyche promise that she will not look at his face and he visits her every night to make love to her in the darkness. Despite all the love and tenderness Psyche is still bothered by the oracles claims that her husband is a monster. This is showing that the feminine and masculine is still not balanced. They are still separate so there is no enlightenment. Psyches’s sisters visit her and are jealous of her beautiful home. They insist that her husband is a monster and talk her into finding out.

Psyche decides to break her husband’s only request of allowing his face to remain secret and look upon him at night. She lights a candle to gaze at his face and all his majestic beauty. A single drop of oil falls from the candle and wakes Cupid. Cupid flees their home in distress because he had been betrayed. The flame of the candle represents intellect. So here we have 3 of the 4 elements on our way to enlightenment.

Psyche is distraught and she goes in search of her husband. She travels many days until she meets the goddess Ceres. Ceres is now the second goddess in the story and 2 goddess symbolize seen and unseen wisdom. Ceres tells Psyche to surrender herself to Venus and whatever ill will the goddess throws at her. Obeying Ceres’ advice, Psyche is giving what seems like 3 impossible tasks. First is to separate the grains of Venus’ temple into piles. Second she has to steal a  wool fleece from a herd of sheep. Third she has to travel into the underworld and request some beauty from Queen Proserpina, so she can give it to Venus. In doing the last task Psyche has to keep the box in which the beauty is placed tightly closed, for fear of terrible repercussions.

Psyche starts the trials and without her knowing Cupid assists her. The first trial is alchemical symbolism. In alchemy the grains of Venus’ temple were the seven heavenly spheres in the sky. They are as follows:

Sun – Wheat
Moon – Rice
Mars – Oats
Mercury – Millet
Jupiter – Rye
Venus – Barley
Saturn – Corn

Her having to steal a fleece from sheep tells me this myth was written in the time of Aries. Finally she is given divine advice on how to surpass the dangers of Hades. Those who have read my previous work know that Hades symbolizes your body. You being in Hades or the underworld is you being here on earth in the fleshy body(See Magic). So now we have the 4 element for enlightenment.

Psyche is so upset about all the trials that she opens the forbidden box and is immediately put into a Stygian sleep. This is a sleep so strong she is considered the living dead. This is the sleep of the river Styx or Hades, in other words the sleeping masses. She had become one of the masses. By that time Cupid has had enough and he wants to be with his wife. This is the Masculine yearning for the Sacred Feminine. Cupid flies down to rescue her and lifts her in her sleeping form into the heavens. He pleads with Jupiter to talk some sense into his mother, Venus. Venus lifts the curse from Psyche and she is transformed into an immortal. Once she becomes immortal her and Cupid are wed.

This is the story of your enlightenment. The marriage of the Sacred Feminine with the Masculine.

The Magick We Make

Author’s Note: Original Fiction published in the 2011 Edition of Ginseng

maxresdefault

Once upon a time in a city by the sea there were two people. Both were fair of face and form.

One was dark of hair and light of eye. A gift fueled by the magick of voice and the colors of words.

The other, was light of hair and eye. A gift fueled by the magick of music and the colors of words.

The dark one had come to the city from the far off land of Tul-soka. Though educated, the dark one spoke plain and possessed a vagabond soul, urging movement—looking for that which was missing.

The light one had been born by the sea, her songs a mother tongue. A talent for turning those songs into music the mundane could understand. Many miles were traveled, many lessons learned from others who also heard the magick in the nature’s elements. Always the gypsy soul returned to the city by the sea looking for that which was missing.

As nature will, the two souls drifted on the tides of Fate drawing them closer. The Powers of the Light worked diligently to bring the pair together. To be what they were always destined to be…the balance between The Light and The Dark. Trying just as diligently to keep the couple apart was The Power of the Dark, not wanting the pair to weave the magick of their words and music through the masses to spread their balance through the city by the sea, then out into the world.

A friend of kindred spirit, a mutual acquaintance held a celebration to commemorate his good fortune to gain employment with an acting company of high standing. Fate plucked the strings of their lives and the pair was invited and their time available to attend their friend’s celebration.

As was their want, when all the casual acquaintances left for their abodes, the circle of those closest in spirit opened their black cases. Instruments were lovingly tuned and melodies filled the air. All the voices died to just their two as their magicks combined to dance an aurora of color across the midnight blue sky.

Shy of each other at first, though they were constantly drawn together, the dark and fair began to pass time in each other’s company. Soon the gift of their combined magicks wove their words and notes into the colors that became threads, and the threads became the tapestry of their lives.

Their magicks drew the people with their hot and powerful energy. All wanted to bask in the rainbow—the power of their love and light their combined souls created.

As the Power of The Dark abhors the Power of The Light, The Dark began to whisper to the mates. Streaks of darkness began to poison and darken the vibrant energy. Breathy melodies growled in the blaze of passion became stabbing daggers of anger. Small rifts widened into crevices. Little scratches erupted into raw bleeding gashes that became deep scars. The bond between the two souls dimmed, became sickly, then snapped as the infection caused by The Darkness poisoned their souls.

In the final crescendo, scarred of heart and soul, the dark half fled their home. A pall of colorless silence settled over the land as the music and the magick died.

Far to the north in another city by the sea, the dark half found company with fellow entertainers. The work was exhausting and dangerous, but the pain of losing half of one’s soul shrouded the physical complaints.

The company’s patron was a man of show and flash, but with little substance. Always he pushed for bigger stunts, larger spectacles, and more explosions.

It was one such spectacle where pyrotechnics detonated too early sending the troupe into a silence of grief as they saw the dark half of the magickal couple lay broken and bloody on the stage.

It took many months, but patches of color soon began to appear in the southern city by the sea. They were not as vibrant, nor their energy as powerful, but the light half tried to carry on their magick with words and melodies.

That stopped the day a messenger appeared at their door. An accident…the dark half’s life hanging by Fate’s thin silken cord. The healers held little hope that Death would not claim the dark half, allowing The Dark to win the day.

The fair one raced to the dark half’s side. Fingers calloused from years of making their magick, reached out to touch the battered face that was as familiar as the one seen each day in the mirror, the light half whispered words of love, apology and forgiveness, voice hoarse with grief, entreating the other to hear.

Tears spilled unheeded as a pair of beloved eyes blinked slowly, and color filled the room. Joy, surprise, love and passion shone from the two sets of pale eyes. As long fingers traced the tears on the fair cheek, the monitoring machines and The Light shrieked their alarms.

When pale eyes opened, they lay on huge bed covered with sumptuous linens and silks. Eyes widened in surprise as they found no wounds or bruises covering the dark one.

They climbed off the bed and found clothing in their sizes and tastes, but made of the finest materials. Hand in hand they approached the door. Finding it unlocked they warily moved through the hall and down the stairs. Seeing what looked like a door out of the mansion, they looked around before starting that way only to be intercepted by a tall man dressed as a butler. He pointed toward another room. Hands still joined the pair moved the way he indicated.

They stopped barely inside a formal dining room, trying to digest what they were seeing. Opulence like they had only seen in pictures of the palaces of the kings and queens of old filled their vision. Sitting at the head of an ornately carved table was a handsome middle aged man, well groomed and expensively dressed.

Normally outgoing and personable with their followers, the pair simply stared at the man much the way a mongoose watches a cobra.

The man’s voice was melodious and smooth attempting to soothe the nervousness that became obvious as the dark one placed his body between the man and the light one. He beckoned them to join him at the table. When the servant would separate them to seat them on the man’s left and right, they protested so adamantly that a brief nod allowed them to stay together.

The table was laid with beautiful linens, china, silver and crystal. Food prepared to perfection filled the side board, servants standing at attention around the table to serve their every whim.

Instead of tempting the children of The Light, the pall of The Darkness that tainted everyone and everything in the mansion repulsed them. They maintained their contact afraid if they separated for any reason that one would lose the other. Having recently experienced the pain of being away from their other half, neither wished to relive that experience any time soon.

The voice continued to flow through the room, over their skin, along their nerves trying to slip into their minds as the voice had done before.

Seeing the couple resist angered The Dark. A tendril oozed through the room adding its power to that of the voice to get the balance to join The Dark. They could have whatever they wanted…be whatever they wanted if only they joined The Dark.

They fled the table, desperate to escape the suffocating power of The Dark. The ornate double doors slammed shut blocking their escape. They turned around to face The Dark, fingers tightly intertwined as they leant each other their strength.

Angered at their resistance, the tendrils increased wrapping around their bodies in a bizarre parody of armor trying to break apart their hands—to break apart their power. Determined not to let the poison of The Dark come between them again, they wrapped their arms around each other, foreheads resting together as they shared their breath—their love—their power.

As the tendrils continued to wrap around the two bodies, they cleaved to one another determined they would not be separated—they would be together forever.

The two souls screamed their denial at the smiling Dark. The Light sputtered, then flared as the magicks of the voices, words and music combined. Like the legendary Phoenix, the newly healed souls blazed from the tainted mansion returning to the outside world on the color of their songs.
