Goddess of the Sea: Salacia & Amphitrite

By Phoenix of Elder Mountain –In ancient Roman and Greek mythology, Salacia (asteroid #120347) and Amphitrite (asteroid #29) are the feminine divinity of the sea. They were worshipped as goddesses of the ocean and salt waters, who presided over the depths of the oceans. Neptune was Salacia’s consort who presided over the surfaces of the waters but originally Neptune and Poseidon were spring, creek and river until their promotions. Salacia and the Greek Amphitrite are basically the same goddess.
