Full Moon in Gemini

Dear all,
This Full Moon in Gemini — Thursday and Friday — (check the full details below) — brings the energy of increased communication and higher learning, and you can go deeper with something that you started learning last year at about this time.
At the same time, while you may clear up or revise something from the past, make sure that you present any new ideas with clarity and patience.
The need to be right may be stronger than usual and the need to teach or preach may become overbearing if you don’t practice moderation.
Due to the stressful aspects between this Moon and Mars, as well as Mercury retrograde, you need to be EXTRA careful to avoid any arguments as well as while driving Thursday and Friday.
The Moon enters Gemini an hour before midnight and reaches its peak (becomes completely Full) at 39 minutes after midnight on the 23rd EST, less than a day after Sun enters Sagittarius.
Crystals to use: Fluorite, Aquamarine, Mahogany Obsidian
The mind may go into overdrive, so if you can’t sleep, you can meditate (check out my recorded Better Sleep meditations https://crystalcosmopolitan.com/meditation/ or use that “awake time” to put on paper some practical plans.
If you need any energy sessions (Crystal Reiki, Accunect or Tesla Healing) to carry you through or recover afterwards 🙂 — you know where to find me — crystalcosmopolitan.com and universalenergywaves.com
Happy Thanksgiving!

A Summer Solstice Sunrise Observance Ritual

By The Druid’s Garden

Summer Solstice Sunrise from the Water Summer Solstice Sunrise Progression from the Water at Yellow Creek State Park on the Summer Solstice 2017

My alarm goes off at 4:00am.  I’m conveniently camping right along the lake shore, after having spent the evening watching the sunset on the eve of the summer solstice with members of our grove. My kayak is ready to launch, and I roll out of my sleeping bag and slip it quietly into the still, dark water. The starry heavens are brilliant in their glory, the moon a crescent low in the sky. But just as I begin to paddle, the first light on the horizon is present. The mists rise up from the lake water–the lake is warm like bath water even though the air itself is much cooler on this summer solstice morning. I paddle through the mist, finding a good spot from which to watch the sun rise. The lake…

Honoring the Ancestors of Land, Tradition, and Blood

Dana's avatarThe Druid's Garden

As the world  (where I am at, at least!) gets bathed in frost, as the plants wither and die, as the trees bathe themselves in color and then drop their leaves, as the cold wind blows and as the darkness sets in, we in the druid tradition–and in any other traditions–turn to think about the ancestors. In this post, we’ll explore the global traditions surrounding honoring the dead that tie to August-October and honoring the dead to see similarities, we’ll discuss three types of ancestors the druid tradition recognizes, and then we’ll explore ways to honor the ancestors.

Food for the Ancestors! Food for the Ancestors!

Global Ancestral Traditions

When you start digging into ancestor traditions around the world, some striking similarities seem to emerge.

  • The Mexican Day of the Dead, which is a blending of European traditions and Aztec honoring of the dead, goes from Oct 31 – Nov 2. As part of…
